About Woodbury Commons, New York City

Woodbury Common Premium Outlets is an outlet center located in Central Valley, New York. The center is owned by Premium Outlets, a subsidiary of Simon Property Group, and takes its name from the town in which it is located. Opened in late 1985, expanded in 1993, and again in 1998, the center now has 220 stores occupying more than 800,000 square feet (72,000 m²) and is one of the largest contiguous outlet centers in the world. Due to its size, different areas are color-coded to help visitors orient themselves, and on weekends, trolleys are available to transport shoppers from the parking lots and around the center. Due to its proximity to New York City, Woodbury Common is a major attraction for foreign tourists visiting the region. Japanese tourists seem to have been overtaken by Chinese tourists as the most frequent foreign visitors. Tour buses and shuttles make daily trips from New York City, the center employs a staff of interpreters, and currency exchange and foreign shipping services are available on site. Guests are greeted in several languages including Japanese, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

  • High end designer outlets, as well as more mainstream brands. While some of the shops sell sharply marked down products from their regular retail stores, others sell lower-quality items made specifically for their outlet stores. And a few others sell just normal stuff at normal prices. So you do need to shop carefully, but if you do, there are great bargains to be had. In general, if you don't care for insane crowds, avoid this place on the obvious big shopping days (Black Friday, three-day weekends etc). And if it's hot and sunny out, you may want to bring a hat and/or sunscreen--there's not a lot of shade.

  • A mega-outlet shopping mall with all the usual suspects. A great destination for the off-price bargain hunter. It pays to be cautious. Know your prices and also be aware that many name brand stores stock lesser quality made-for-the-outlet merchandise. It's heaven for the label conscious shopper who doesn't care about long term durability. That having been said, I scored a Coach bag at a great price that has lasted for years. Avoid the place on weekends and before holidays, if you can. Parking spots are scarcer than hen's teeth.

  • Great price, many shop that actually offered a good price compare at the town (Manhattan). Before come here, better to have a price self check on what item do you want to buy so you know how much is your saving. Transportation recommendation is using bus if you don't have a car. Try to buy tickets from online web, you could find great discount compare to buy directly from the bus terminal

  • amazing outlet mall, visited by people from all over the world. It is not unusual to see people walking around with luggage to fill with shopping items. great deals and high end outlets. lots of walking and stores for everyone.

  • Excellent outlet mall with almost all of the best high end labels as well as the basics. New stores open regularly and there has been a recent expansion of new buildings. Loewe, one of the best leather companies in the world, from Spain now has a shop here.
