One of the best venues to catch up on New York’s famed performance art’s scene, the New Amsterdam Theatre is a patent on many lists of best things to do in New York for art lovers. The decor is royal and beautifully dramatic, enhancing your experience here. Essentially a Broadway theatre, this attraction was built during the years 1902-1903. The highlights of the theatre, apart from its theatre performances, are the incredible Art Nouveau interiors along with stunning Beaux-Arts exteriors. The building’s historic significance is strengthened by the fact that it is counted among the National Register of Historic Places since 1980! The Aladdin show is one of the most popular shows to watch at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

  • We had a great time watching Aladdin here at the New Amsterdam theatre! The venue was clean and has a lot of historic details inside. There is a small lobby between the men's and women's restroom after you go downstairs, which is a pretty cute area to take photos with a small Christmas tree. The show was spectacular and the music numbers were on point. Check out Aladdin on Broadway and you won't be disappointed!

  • Just saw Aladdin at New Amsterdam Theater. The show was incredible and performances were top notch. We sat in mezzanine row KK so the seat location was just okay but not great. The venue is old but but nicely set up and easy to get around. Even though the show was sold out, there was almost no wait at all to get in, get to our seats, check a stroller, and get out at the end of the show. My ONLY complaint is that the seats are tiny and the leg room is even smaller. At least in the mezzanine. If you are over 6' tall, you will be uncomfortable. No question. But for a 2 hour Broadway show of this level of excellence, it's worth being crammed in like sardines. Enjoy the show!

  • I was expecting a bit more grand of a stage, but it seemed to serve its purpose well. My husband and I saw the Aladdin musical and loved it! It’s too bad the usher seating us was rude. An usher should always wear a smile and be eager to assist patrons, but that wasn’t the case. We would not visit this theater again.

  • I had the chance to see the play Aladdin here and it was fantastic! The workers at the theatre were nice and helped you find your seat. They also provided booster seats for kids. The line entering the building was long but moved quickly. I'd recommend seeing plays at this theatre.

  • Gorgeous theater. The architectural and artistic details are amazing. Really enjoyed seeing Alladin here. Had mezzanine row DD seats, and could see the performance very well. Seats are tight though. My husband, at 6'2, was quite cramped. Tall people should definitely try for an end seat.
