  • What an incredible asset to the area. A free safe public swimming area .... open 24/7 except for cleaning and HUGE surf days. Bring some food...some family...you can walk as far as Susan Gilmore beach on the right day and tide....careful not to get caught there though.Been there for decades...fond memories for me...and should be there for decades more.

  • One of the best things about Newcastle in my opinion! Love coming to do laps or sunbathe on a beautiful day.

  • I didn't go near the ocean baths although I did actually see the south Pacific Ocean with fish and whales and boats and ships. These are wordy words because who would ever read this. The dog got brushed and the excess fur blew into the ocean from a great height. I hope the whales don't mind. I expect the cliff birds will appreciate a bit of comfort.

  • Pools right next to the beach. Good splash area for kids. A lovely day out, something for everyone

  • As long as you don't mind a potential 15 min walk from wherever you could find a park, this is the best free swimming pool in the region. Best on a day when the waves are crashing over the edge (watch out for teenagers falling in on you), there's also a smaller kids zone, and access to beach walks toward Dudley, and back north to neighbouring beaches.
