The Lock-up Cultural Centre - Review
Yet another one of the city’s heritage sites, the Lock-Up Cultural Centre used to be a Police precinct and a lock-up with one of a kind prison cells. Today, the cells are used by artists as a contemporary art gallery and also have a law-and-order museum within the walls of the precinct. The Lock-Up Cultural Centre is known for its artists-in-residence program to help them with their skill and brings a wide variety of diversity to the table.

The Lock-up Cultural Centre, Newcastle Reviews
Loved the experience, except for the video of the guy sewing his mouth together.
Eerie, insightful and informative. The Lock-up gives the tourist a window-seat into the criminal justice system of Australia. Would recommend to anyone travelling through Newcastle!
Awesome use of the old Newcastle lock up as a contemporary art venue - check public programs to make the most of your visit as always great talks and local community perspectives on art
Nice art. Very open and clean.
Grabbed a quick coffee, looks to be a good place but I was only there for a few minutes. Would like to try it again some day I am back in Newcastle.
