Holy Island, also popular as the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, is the place you just cannot stop marveling at. This unique tidal island is located off the northwest coast of England. Holy Island is home to the magnificent Lindisfarne Castle, the landmark responsible for the island’s name. The island was first observed in the 6th century AD. Apart from being historic, the island also has religious value as it has been a centre of Celtic Christianity. The castle was built here in 1550 after the Viking invasion. In addition to the castle, there are two stunning lighthouses that are worth your visit.
