The museum is a combination attraction with the North Tyneside Steam Railway, a standard gauge line that runs for about 3 kilometres from the museum. It’s exciting because the train is steam-powered, hearkening back to the earliest days of railways. One of the main attractions here is George Stephenson’s famous ‘Billy’ engine. There are other late 19th century locomotives, electric parcel vans, a 1909 electric locomotive, and passenger coaches from the 1950s.

    • The train rides are scheduled on all Sundays of July and on 25th July. In August, the train rides are on all Thursdays and Sundays of the month along with 26th August. I suppose the heritage train rides are scheduled to run on all Sundays and Public Holidays since Easter. I don't think the timing of the train rides is fixed. You will have to visit the official website of the Stephenson Railway Museum to check it out.

      The one-day ticket prices of the train ride are 7 Pounds per adult, 5 Pounds per child(5-16)/disabled/senior(above 60)/student(with ID). The ticket for family (2 adults, 2 children) is 17 Pounds.
