Overlooking the Newport Bay and located close to the The Wedge, the West Jetty View park forms the west end of the Balboa peninsula. The Wedge has become a famous spot for surfers (the waves can get as high as 30 meters!) but if you are looking for a quaint spot without compromising on the view of the bay, a leisurely stroll at the West Jetty View Park is just what you need! Find a cosy spot here in the shade of the tall Palm trees and enjoy the view of the surfers mastering the waves or simply lay back and treat yourself to the view of the jetty and distant the Corona del Mer beach. The Boardwalk is a scenic place in itself with benches that line the entire length. Don’t forget to take a few photos when you explore the place.

West Jetty View Park Reviews & Ratings
Its clean and had a bit of grass and a few picnic tables, but this isn't a park. It's a grassy area to watch boats enter and exit the harbor and look at the beautiful scenery. But the Wedge is cool if you're down for some shore breakage.
Amazing! Went there to fish and the water is so nice you can see the fish! Beautiful. How many fish can you name?
Cool bunch of rocks that you can walk out on and look at the ocean. Be careful though because they very slippery. You can also fish off the jetty. Walk out and just watch boats go bu is also a lot of fun
A great spot to relax, breathe the fresh air and sight see. You can either sit by the jetty and watch a variety of different boats and sea life cruising in and out of the harbor. I've seen dolphins, harbor seals, and sea lions regularly swimming through. Massive yachts and small ski boats cruise in and out all day. There isn't much in the form of facilities like a dedicated parking lot or bathroom, but there should be plenty of parking in surrounding neighborhoods and Balboa fun zone has about a half mile away has public bathrooms. On the other side of the jetty is the world famous surf spot, "the wedge". Featured in the Endless Summer and numerous other surf documentaries this place goes off. Waves get large enough to make the sand shake. A great place to watch but would not recommend for a swim. Waves can creep up, pick you up, and throw you right into the sand. No worries though, if you'd like to swim just head north a bit and it's much better for taking a dip.
Lovely view of Newport Harbor. Park benches, short walk to the Wedge. Very peaceful.
