If the depths of the Ocean are intriguing for your kids, the ExplorOcean centre will tickle their curious mind while offering some rather cool learning session. From mapping out the ocean floor, controlling a ROVto learning navigation skills and getting familiar with sea creatures- the place has some of the most interactive activities for children! The Pirate exhibits, submarines, models of sharks, exhibit of ropes used for sailing and the in-house aquarium that is home to horned sharks, crabs and starfishes, makes this place anything but boring! The entire place is designed after ‘life at sea’ and if you are traveling with toddlers, the place is perfect to spend an afternoon at.

Explorocean Reviews & Ratings
I enjoyed my day here going on a boat excursion to observe sea lions relaxing on a bowie. On that ride I wanted to do the activities I had seen others doing, like people para-sailing, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, enjoying the ocean view on a boat ride for whale watching, enjoying the beach, and scuba diving. They had lessons, activities, displays, and a raffle. Walking to the pier and Balboa beach was a treat to see and learn about the local crabs. I was excited to see a sea lion swimming next to the pier. The food was excellent as well as the shopping after our ExplorOcean Event visit came to an end. This would be more enjoyable by elementary students gathering from the looks and vibe I received from my teen-aged son.
They have a nice touch tank if you are walking by with kids. If you are hanging out in the area it is a nice way to spend 15 - 20 minutes but definitely not worth driving out of the way for. Also they sometimes have a charge and sometimes don't. I am not sure why, but I would really have to think about it if I was paying for it.
My daughter, Megan, a 6th grader at Newport El, absolutely LOVED ExplorOcean! She enjoyed her time there and learned so much more about her invention. They were VERY helpful. :)) Thank you, Traci Stone
I went here on a field trip, it was extremely fun :)
Extremely disappointed in how they handled a class that my kids attended. Staff was rude and extremely unhelpful. Follow up email from the staff was disappointing as well. Parents avoid.
