About Kegon Falls, Nikko

Another gem of Japan, the Kegoon falls is ranked as one of the country’s best waterfalls. Located at the Lake Chuzenji, these falls are a result of rerouted lava that forms the Daiya River. Cascading from a height of 318 feet, the Kegon Falls, are encircled by twelve more tiny waterfalls that squirt from the cracks of adjoining mountains.

People from all over Japan, come to admire these falls, especially in the months of fall, thus even causing traffic jams on routes to the falls.

Kegon Falls, Nikko Reviews

  • Very beautiful scenic views. Kegon fall itself is very beautiful. Look at the rocks on right side of the fall, you will notice how beautiful our nature mother is. Apart from this fall there is museum, eating and souvenir shops. Food was good and not much costly. Must go.

  • Breath taking views of the waterfall. Observation platform from above, for free, or take the elevator down 100 meters to the observation platforms, which are on three levels, very affordable at only 500yen. The view during the winter, during or after the snow, is very beautiful. And, no line for the elevator. Souvenir shops and food shops are very comfortable, with friendly and welcoming staff.

  • Thought this place was absolutely amazing. The waterfall was stunning and was well worth the visit. Reasonably priced and the staff were super helpful, wish i could go back to see it again. The scenery was so beautiful, well worth the a visit

  • Beautiful falls especially in winter when it snows. There are a couple of shops that you can purchase snacks and souvenirs. There is even a ice cream shop across the street. There is a platform that you can see the falls from, breath taking. Surrounded by lush greanery the falls can be heard from a distance. Great family, couple or even friends photo spot. In winter the falls still flows but the snow covers the trees beside it

  • Beautiful, lots of small shops and food stalls nearby. Elevator down a 100m to the falls cost ¥600 per adult.
