Located in Ninghai the Wild Crane Pond shares its name via a mysterious story. It is said that Prince Wang Qiao of the Zhou dynasty found certain ingredients to create a concoction which would enable immortality when drunk. He flew on top of a crane to Mount Tonghai. For his efforts he was transported to heaven while the legend and the name stuck to the pond. There as much as 18 cascades and 36 pools which makes it a perfect spot for leisure and recreation. Places like Dragon pool gorge and Juxian gorge offer spectacular scenery of the birds, trees, landscapes and clouds.
