As with the rest of Oman, Nizwa is not a place to visit in Summers. But the rest of the year, Nizwa delights its visitors with pleasant temperatures.
Summer : Nizwa summers are unforgivingly hot and arid. The temperatures reach to a maximum of 50 degree Celsius and sweat is a constant companion. The summer season usually starts in April, gets the hottest in June and does not leave you until the month of October. Not a great time to be outdoors, this city still has quite a bit to offer to you even during this season. The average temperature is roughly 35 degree Celsius in the city of Nizwa during summers. Nights are an escape from the torture sun inflicts upon you during the day.
Winter : Winter temperatures are inviting and pleasant. The lowest temperature drop is 10 degree Celsius. November until March is the best time to visit Nizwa. Although it rains in winters, the precipitation levels in Nizwa are quite low. Winters arrive in October and grace Nizwa until beginning of March. The day time temperature stays at a pleasant 24 degree celsius at the maximum and the nights get really cold. But you can completely enjoy a souk without being drained out by the sun during this season and hence this is the best time to visit the city.
