  • Montauk Point is located in the State Park of the same name—it’s the easternmost tip of Long Island and also of New York State. It’s located on the South Fork and is quite a nice (and long) drive from NYC. Lots of people come here to surf fish, but there’s also nature hiking trails that you can explore. The beaches here are all rocky, so no laying on this beach for a tan!

  • Gorgeous place. I felt great relief coming here away from the city. I spent quality time with my family just sitting around basking in the sun and enjoying the quietness of the beach. It's a really well maintained stone beach in a unique place.

  • Worth the drive. Very beautiful, but check the times if you want to go up to the lighthouse. It closed as we got there. :/

  • Pay to park (free after 4pm). Pay to visit. We didn't think the price was worth it so we didn't go inside, but did walk around the beach type area around which was well worth the visit. Nice little area. Great to checkout at least once if you live LI. Not with a trip out of your way for this and not worth being a stop on your list of you're just visiting LI.

  • I cannot say enough pleasant things about this place. Seeing the lighthouse outside was amazing and the view from the top of the it was breathtaking. There are trails to the shoreline just below the lighthouse. There's a lot of history to learn while visiting. It's the oldest lighthouse in New York State. Must see!
