Riu Palace Aruba Reviews & Ratings
I totally enjoyed my experience. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly. The staff was great. The food was good and I loved the variety. I will definitely be back on another vacation. My best birthday thus far.
BEST VACATION EVER!! Such a great resort to vacation at. Service was amazing and always checked on you to make sure you have everything you need and they were fast and efficient. The food was amazing at the Don Nicholas Buffet. **Don't go to the specialty restaurants as the food there is disgusting. Pretty sure that they just warm up the food there. Beach is beautiful, but chilly and since it is windy, the sand comes at you and hurts. The pool is great, but chilly henceforth it is Aruba and it's very windy. You look around at the other resorts and they just don't compare to the RIU Palace. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation do come here.
Would love to give them zero stars. Flew in today. Third time here. Was extremely excited. Was promised a ocean view room. Settled for a partial ocean view over looking at a roof top of the building next door. Tried to speak to management, gave me the run around. Poor management. No customer service. Staff couldn’t care any less that I spend the first four hours of my vacation trying to get a room switched. Not to mention the rooms are old and overused. Went to have a drink and some food in between, which were all disappointing. Save your money and go next door to the Hilton or Hyatt.
We stayed here for the first time last week for our anniversary. The entire staff is amazing, professional, and friendly. The grounds are well kept. The rooms are nice. We had a junior suite with a partial ocean view. There was nothing partial about the view. From room 538 our view of the ocean was amazing! It was so peaceful in the morning watching the sun rise. I liked our room, but for the money paid there were some flaws. There's a small round hole in the ceiling above the refrigerator. Water from the AC drips through the hole. We kept a towel down to keep the floor from being a major slipping hazard. Not a deal a breaker. First day upon entering the room, the black mold on the vent was very noticeable. I was stunned! By day 2 after the cleaning crew arrived, the mold was gone. A strong bleach smell permeated the room. This was almost a deal breaker because I'm asthmatic. We were happy to see the mold gone so we didn't complain. We opened the patio door for awhile. The bathroom window must have been replacement because it a weird filter taped to it for privacy. The food options are plentiful, but avoid snack time at Nautilus. It's seriously picked over scraps. We ate at Don Nicholas for breakfast and lunch.Good options on the buffet! During we ventured out to local businesses nearby. Beside the negative stuff, the pools are beautiful! Staff is attentive. Drinks are flowing. Music is upbeat. I thought I'd be annoyed by this resort being family friendly, but surprisingly I wasn't. The kids were having fun and not being annoying. Sure they splashed me when jumping in the pool, but again not a problem at all. It's a pool! The beachfront is THE best on the island! We never had a problem getting a covered seat on the beach or at pool. We usually arrived by 9AM. We put our towels down to secure a spot. No issues.
I was here for a week and had a great time. The grounds, beach, and pool were all beautiful and very well maintained. The rooms were also clean. One strange thing about the rooms is that the one with two queen beds had them directly next to each other, basically making one big bed. The drinks and bars were plentiful and tasty. The food was all good but I cannot say it was all fantastic. There were some meals that were top notch while others were just good, certainly nothing was bad though. This is one of the only all-inclusive resort on the island of Aruba, so it is difficult to directly compare it to many of the other hotels. Overall, if you are looking for an all-inclusive resort, you will not be dissapointed with the Riu Palace Aruba.
