If you wish to visit a landmark of historical and cultural significance, then you should not miss a chance to visit Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. This lighthouse was a herald of assurance to the local populace and the 19th century mariners and currently is a building of cultural value. It is built on the south face of Hereford Inlet, and you will be intrigued by the architecture of this lighthouse because it doesn’t look like a typical lighthouse as seen in books or documentaries. It stands more than 57 feet tall and its beacon can be seen from 13 nautical miles away in clear night sky. Since 1961, Hereford Inlet Lighthouse has been automated and doesn’t require a keeper to turn the beacon on or off.
