Sprawling over 8.7ha, this bird paradise created in 1947 is rich with biodiversity. The tall thickets of trees create a canopy above the head and your trail through the light and shadow is something worth giving a shot. The hike is not strenuous, and you can spot a plethora of bird species here, namely, American Robins, Eastern Phoebes, Grey Catbirds, Northern Mockingbirds, Northern Cardinals, Carolina Wrens, Great Crested Flycatchers, Common Yellowthroat Warblers, Great Egrets, Black and Yellow Crowned Night-herons, Snowy Owls, Red Tailed Hawks. The sanctuary also takes active part in hatching Eastern Box Turtles. The magnificently decorated garden is awesome to sit back and relax with a huge variety of wildflowers such as Yarrow, Milkweed, Blue Wild Indigo, White Dolls Daisy, Coreopsis, Coneflowers, Rattlesnake Master, Maximilian Sunflowers and the list goes on!
