Delapré Abbey, also known as the Abbey of St Mary de la Pré meaning "in or of the Meadow," is a neo-classical estate that incorporates a former monastery located just outside of Northampton, United Kingdom. Founded by Anglo-Norman Earl and Simon de Senlis in the mid-thirteenth century, this abbey is spread over 3,060 acres of land. A Grade II Listed house, the Delapre Abbey opened its doors to the visitors for the first time in 900 years in the Spring of 2017. While the Delapre Abbey Preservation Trust is working with Northampton Borough Council and a number of volunteers to restore this beautiful mansion, the Delapre Abbey has now entered in a new phase in its history. While the Abbey itself is not open all year round, the visitors are always welcome at and can enjoy its grounds, shops, and cafés.
