National Trust - Priest's House, Easton On The Hill, Easton On The Hill Reviews

  • A interesting property with lots of information relating to the property and the local slate mining industry. Upstairs, via a steep stone spiral staircase is a small museum relating to the slate mines and the local area. The key is available at local properties. The gentleman we collected from was very helpful giving info on the local area and suggested the local walk which took in the historic areas of the village including the church.

  • A very interesting place to visit if you only have a short time to stay

  • I love the effort they made with "one of the National Trust's smallest buildings". It's a 15th century building cramed with information boards and objects. The building is used as a museum which contains info on the "mining and preparation of Collyweston slates". This falls under the quirky collection of the National Trust so there is no toilets, shop or cafe. There is not an guidebook but there is a good leaflet you can take. The architecture is nice too. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area.

  • It's an interesting place to visit, but not the usual National Trust experience. Small, no tea rooms or grounds and not really somewhere for children. As long as you are aware of that then you'll enjoy it. Allow up to one hour to have a good look round and check the opening times as it's not open every day.

  • Small with interesting memorabilia, we turn up and it was shut but a gentleman came out and gave us the key.
