The Northampton & Lamport Railway is a heritage railway that is based at Pitsford and Brampton stations near the villages of Pitsford and Chapel Brampton just outside the town of Northampton. In 1984, 3 years after the Northampton and Market Harborough railway line closure, an association was made with an intention to re-open the heritage railway here. After the granting from the Light Railway Order, this heritage railway opened on 31 March 1996. Currently the passenger train runs on this standard gauge railway line, departing from and arriving at the only station, Pitsford and Brampton. Also located here is a museum that houses many steam, main line diesel, industrial diesel, shunters and carriage locomotives.
