The Town Hall is on the west side of Liberty square and was built in 1895 by an architect named George Molnar. Its architecture is distinctively neo baroque and is the administrative seat of the municipality of Novi Sad. The striking features are the 16 figures that stand in the facade, made by an artist Julie Annika which symbolizes the various activities of humans. The hall also has a tall tower and bell atop which once served as a fire alarm to warn the people. Also the statue of Svetozar Miletic, an important Political leader of Serbia is in the front near the entrance. It was pulled down during WWII but restored again in 1944 and today is declared as cultural heritage site of national importance.
