Sprawling over 783ha, this national park is located in the Caspian Hyrcanian mixed forest ecoregion. It was created to conserve the gazelles, Caspian seals and water birds that are endemic in this area. The semi-arid climate favors the habitats of jackal, fox, rabbits, badgers, Asiatic Lion, Caspian Tiger, Caucasian Leopard, Lynx, Striped Hyena and many water birds such as silver gulls, wheezing swans, grey and red-headed Black Ducks, White-eyed black Duck, Big white Bitterns, Sandpipers, Bald Coots, Sea Bozchas and Marsh Belibagli. The Marshlands are home to a variety of Snake species and with snakes, there are Predator Birds lurking too. The park is not crowded with tourists, so you can enjoy sightings of the wildlife and contemplate in nature.

Absheron National Park Reviews & Ratings
Generally interesting place to be and see different landscape and fauna. Entrance fee is 2 AZN per person. Vehicle is permitted, but roads are more suitable for SUVs. Beware of snakes there!
nice view to the sea. On the otherside if you do not come at the right time you will see only birds. The road to get there is not suited for normal cars but for bikes, walking or motorbikes it is ok. You can get inside of the National Park with your car.
Absheron was established on the 8th of February 2005, by Order 622 of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on an area of 783 hectares in the administrative territory of the District of Azizbeyov in the City of Baku, on the base of Absheron State Nature Preserve. Also its Preserve was created in July 1969 in order to protect gazelles, Caspian seals and water birds that inhabit the territory. The climate of the area is semi-arid, specific to semi-desert and dry steppe. Types and phytomass of flora is poor here, plants are changed respective of water and saltiness regime of area. Sea coastal sand plants, meadows with jigilgamish and paz grass, one-year saline grasses etc. are spread. Ephemeras also develop well in early spring.
If you aren't a passionate bird lover. there is nothing special here to see except the magnificent empty landscape. if you are lucky, you can see some turtles and (sea) snakes
