Have you ever wondered what stars are? The difference between stars, comets and planets? How people go into space? And how the night sky looks up close? Carl-zeiss Planetarium is the best place to explore the known and unknown of a place so far away. The first planetarium of Stuttgart was built in 1928 with a state-of-the-art projector that could represent the sky from any location on earth. However, this was closed down during the war. The new one was built in 1977, in a classic pyramid shaped building with one of the most modern projector of the time. While 2001 brought about a better version of computer controlled planetary projectors the planetarium is at its best now, after renovation in 2016. Enjoy the celestial stories of stars, planets, comets, space and more.
