In 1931, Trailside Museum of Natural History was established to be served as the foremost nature education center for the public. It is housed in a Victorian mansion of mid 70’s. While taking a tour around the museum, you would be delighted to come across live exhibits of native wild animals, and colourful garden of numerous wildflowers. A wide range of nature programmes, guided hiking and customized educational tours are offered by the child-friendly Trailside Museum of Natural History for school groups, organizations or individual student. You would be winded through the floodplain forest and beautiful woodlands while enjoying a long walk through its natural-surfaced walking trails.

Hal Tyrrell Trailside Museum Reviews & Ratings
This is a great museum to bring kids to let them know more about our beautiful nature! They offer educational programs such as Field trips and it is free, I will definitely check their site as advised by their staff. The building is old but well-maintained and clean. There are animals outside like owls, hawk and turkey, and inside the building we were able to check reptiles, snakes, turtles and many more. We really enjoyed our tour and our guide is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Awesome place to come for an afternoon with the kids
Great place to take a little walk around in nature. The animals outside (They have a coyote, owls, and a hawk) are neat to check out. And then you can go inside to check out the main floor of the historic house turned nature center. Great fun for ALL ages.
I was just there with my neighbor and happened to walk into a feeding of the birds and the coyote. It was very cool. Adam was well informed, great with kids but this is awesome for adults as well. I had to cut it short because my neighbor had to go to work, but can't wait to go back. Tomorrow they have a blue grass gig. ;) THIS IS FREE, so instead of taking your kids to play video games on a nice day, take them here. They have a schedule online by the way.
A tucked away corner of woodlands in the neighborhood. Nature center with guides and kids activity center, small but fairly diverse, focusing on the original inaccurate if the forest.
