Heritage Park Fountain is a lovely park to visit with children during summer time. It features a splash pad which spurts out water periodically, making the kids giggle with glee. Children love to play in the water and run around the fountain. It has a few tall trees that provide shade from the Sun on a hot scorching day. Lay down relaxed under the trees and enjoy some quiet time. The park also offers panoramic views of the Capitol lake and Capitol building. You can make a quick stop here while passing along the Capitol lake jogging trail.

Super fun place for kiddos to play! Love the Capitol building in the background! There’s lots of variety in the water splashing and even music/sounds off and on. Benches need some repairing but plenty of grass and shade to sit in... would be nice to have restrooms nearby but can find those at the Park a few blocks away.
It’s devastating what the city is allowing to take over our beautiful states capital. Can’t even keep the place for kids free of the homeless and drugs. I shouldn’t have to worry about my kids stepping on a used needle while at a splash park. Get it together. I never thought I’d see the day I would rather drive my kids to Tacoma to play and feel safer.
I just wish it wasn't soooo slippery. Definitely recommend wearing non skid shoes and plan to use the bathroom before hand. Water pressure is pretty good so be wary of your kiddos and fur babies sticking their faces over the holes.
I used to LOVE this splash pad and park but the day this photo was taken there was a bizarre fight/altercation and about 3 (adult) people were bathing and washing their clothes (and shoes) in the water where all the children were playing. I don't know how I feel about that, but I have suggestions for the City: Clean up the damn park. Make it usable for tax paying citizens. Hire a guard or rent a cop to walk the grounds, fix the damn benches (seriously!) and keep the place tidy. I recognize we have a homelessness issue and a drug addiction issue, but letting this park go to the wayside is only going to make it worse.
