The Starved Rock State Park Visitor Centre in the Starved Rock State Park by the Illinois River features several interactive displays, hiking maps, free videos, souvenirs and as an added bonanza, there are snacks, artisan ice creams and beverages offered to the visitors. The giant slice of the Elm trunk featured right at the entrance is from one of the largest trees in America. The Bookstore and the Le Rocher Gift Shop will provide you information about the park and the surrounding areas, local flora and fauna. You can also catch the short movies at the theatre that depicts about the natural history. Other exhibits of the Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center include a 56 feet Mural, the Fort St Louis model, 400-gallon aquarium containing the fish from the Illinois River and so on.
