This Urban Lake Park is 2500 acres in surface area and averages a depth of 29 metres. For Oklahoma locals it's a major recreation hotspot. The most popular activities here actually take place on the water. For example, sail boarding, fishing at the Docks, fishing at the enclosed heated docks, or merely rowing out into the water. Sometimes they're special boating events held. Pedestrian and cycling trails circle the lake. There are playgrounds, picnic areas, group shelters, a golf course with it's own shop and cart rental, and a softball field. The Lake Hefner dam runs along the northern side of the lake. You will often find people flying kites here. There are many good places to eat in the neighborhood.

  • Lake Hefner is a beautiful lake. You can enjoy boating, fishing and swimming in the lake. There are a variety of fishes here such as bass, walleye, crappie, bluegills, carps and other sunfish. The stripe bass are huge in size. The light house of Lake Hefner is very nice and there are benches to enjoy the beautiful sunset. There are few parks with shelter around the lake where you can do picnic and children can also enjoy the park.

  • Beautiful lake with a nice jogging path and variety of good restaurants on the east side of the lake. I’ve tried three of the four. Hefner Grill is my favorite. There are a lot of sailboats that dock up, which creates a gorgeous scenery from the windows of the restaurants.

  • Mine husband and I love this location. It's Simply Beautiful. Relaxing. Clean. Peaceful.

  • What a surprise that we found a lighthouse in OK!! This lake and park are wonderful. There are great restaurants on the lake and we enjoyed visiting 2 of them. Eating with a view of the water and being able to see the lighthouse while dining was calming and relaxing. We were told by one of our servers that the lake is about 10 miles around and they have sailboat races during the summer months. Apparently, lots of sailboarders frequent the lake too in the warmer weather. My friend golfed at the Lake Hefner Golf Course that is close to the water and he loved the course and the views.

  • Great spot to walk the dog and take in the sunset. When I'm in town on business, I like to come by here and think about my first time here.
