Kirche St. Vitus is a spectacular church in Olfen, Germany. The first church was supposedly constructed in the year 836. However, the church has undergone demolition quite a number of times and the majestic church building that stand before you now was built in between 1882-1885. Constructed in the neo-Gothic style of architect, this towering church leaves you awestruck. The church occupies a 15th century baptismal stone which draws a lot of attention. This octagonal gothic font has four animal consoles supporting it and has a representation of the Adoration of the Magi. Besides, there is a Madonna sculpture that can be viewed from the east as well as west side, a Kreuzweg found in 1868, and a 250-year-old Easter Garment. The church lies in the heart of the town but is surrounded by lush green lawns. A great place to experience peace and quietude, visit this church when you are in Olfen.
