The Lormecke Tower in Warstein is a 35m high observation tower surrounded by conifers in the woods of the Amsberger Wald Park. This uncoated tower consists of 144 crossed, overlapping and juxtaposed Douglas fir trees, each having a length of 12m. From the top observation deck of the tower, you can enjoy a panoramic view starting from the ‘hair strand' in the Westfälische Bucht, Teutoburger Wald and Eggegebirge as well as across the Ruhr valley to the Rothaargebirge and mountains. To get to the tower, you need to cover a hiking trail. The Plackweg, Sauerland-Waldroute and the 7.5km long ‘path Lomecke-Turm’ are the accessible hiking trails you can opt for. To enjoy a bewitching sunset or sunrise from the top of this uniquely built tower, you should definitely visit this place.
