Ooty Lake - Review
The Ooty Lake is one of the major tourist attractions in Ooty. Spread across a relatively huge area, the lake is surrounded by thick forests on 3 sides. Activities like boating are carried out at the lake. It also has a nice little picnic spot on its bank and boasts of a Deer park as well. A good place to visit with the family. For the curious, the lake was artificially formed between 1823- 1825 by John Sullivan, the founder of Ooty, by damming the mountain streams flowing down the Ooty valley. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Ooty Itinerary 3 Days.

Ooty Lake, Ooty Reviews
A great tourist spot in the heart of Ooty! I have visited the Ooty lake for years and years and just love how touristy it is! Rent out a boat and peddle away, grab your cameras and take some epic photographs or get a cuppa tea and just spend time taking in the beauty of this place. I have seen plenty of movies being shot here and if you are lucky you probably will see a film crew in the distance!
Nice place for time pass and recreation. Boating costs 170 per head and there are lots of other activities. You can spend half a day easily
Boating is the main attraction. Kids will like it. However we find this place too crowded (may be due to holidays) and less clean (compared to other tourist spots in Ooty). The toy train here can be avoided:)
Great place to vist. Make mind blowing near the dam. Their are many merchants near the lake. Be careful when you buy something from they. Few of them only few of them are fraud, not everyone. So be careful when you buy anything from there. Those who enjoy nature can enjoy the beauty. Beautiful weather is here on season.
Place is good. And near to both railway station (Udagamandalam) and bus stand. It just about 1KM from both. The entry ticket is just around ₹20 for adults and no charge below 15. The place is not much clean. But ok. Not have much to see. But the riding in boat was good experience. It just around ₹150 per person (it may vary according to your choice and also get group boat for family and friends). For children there have mini screen theatre and small parking area. At the front also offer 🏇 horse riding too. Don't miss it on your next visit in Ooty
