Tea Museum And Factory - Review

An entire museum dedicated to tea, and just tea! Don't believe us? The Tea Museum’s tagline reads, ‘your encyclopaedia to the wonderfully refreshing world of Tea!’. At the Tea Museum, you will find three sections of Tea History - Origins of World Tea, Tea History in India and Evolution of Tea in the Nilgiris. At the factory, you’ll get to see the entire process, right from the time the fresh leaves are crushed, dried and then finally processed to make fine tea. You also get to buy freshly manufactured tea. There is also a chocolate factory in the premises.

  • One of the nice place to visit in ootty. The best thing which i found is that they are serving all varieties of tea which they are producing and manufacturing. So we can taste before buying the things. And this same is applicable with home made chocolates too. Nice place for family especilly the ones who loves tea. And they are explaining each process to produce the tea powder in a systematic manner. The staffs are very good in their behaviour. Good service

  • The tea factory is kinda ok. But the factory sales outlets are very expensive and quality is not like the one which they give for tasting inside. Recommended not to buy from the outlets. In the bazaar you will high quality products at much lower price.

  • Must visit this place if you are in Ooty. Very well step wise explained tea making process. We may see steps from their raw leaves to finished tea. Staff is courteous. There are handmade verity of chocolates with many flavours. Taste is delicious. We may purchase it fresh from their retail counters too with some discount.

  • It's situated in a great location, can capture beautiful shots of the valley. This factory is amazing can view live process involved in making tea packagings out of leaves. Don't miss Complementary tea which is so delicious. Visitors can look at the various flavors of tea being sold in the outlet inside factory. Just at the exit of the factory one will pass through outlets of huge collection of chocolates and dry fruits, don't just see them buy them too as they are so delicious

  • The Tea factory and museum is good place to visit, have good parking space, they have chocolates as well. The staffs are very cooperative and explaining the process in detail. The place is clean and nicely maintained. This place is a must visit for all who want to learn about the tea processing.
