The 2001 elected Board of Directors for Orangevale Recreation and Park District wanted Final 9 Sports in Orangevale Community Park! The 2001 Board of Directors did not seek the Community's input or support for Final 9 Sports! They did not want their input! Final 9 Sports had nothing to do with meeting a Community need!

  • Wonderful 18 hole disc golf course, my go to! Excellent on-site disc shop and store with a great disc club! Weekly pin changes and tag rounds (singles and doubles) 20 concrete tee pads with almost 3 basket locations per hole. Mach X baskets and quite a few major tourneys played here, as well. Downside: not a single water fountain.

  • Dont get me wrong. This is one of my old school courses that I learned to play on. But this course is extremely highly played, so it is also extremely worn in. It has lost a lot of its charm for me. Also a lot of rude players last time I was out there. You should play it because it is a classic, but it has fallen pretty far down my list.

  • Family day out...my son (Landon) and I have been talking about trying disc golf for a while now. So today my wife (Karie), my son I decided it was a gorgeous day out and today would be the perfect day to try disc golf. The 3 of us went to Shady Oaks and rented discs (very inexpensive) for all of us and hit the course, really easy walk and very scenic. What a blast!!! Only regret, is that we didn't try this sooner. The people were extremely friendly, even gave us a great tip, just have fun. I was really surprised the round of golf was free, I'd definitely pay to play. Already looked up discs to purchase, and that will be happening, because Karie and I need a rematch with Landon (darn kid beat us). Can't wait to play again really soon.

  • Large Parking Lot Pro Shop near lot (sells disks, bags, pins, and refreshments) Bathroom near lot Very well groomed and managed course Holes move weekly Tournaments happen frequently Can be very busy - if you don't like waiting or you don't want to be rushed go early on weekends (6-7am) Park is open officially from sunrise to sunset Many quality of life improvements are made to the course Not handicap accessible (the course)

  • I'm new to disc golf thanks to a buddy of mine. I had the most fantastic time at Shady Oaks. Ever player we ran into was super friendly, the course is more than just flat like I have in my town, they have multiple basket positions they put out to switch it up, great little disc shop and best it's free! I had an amazing time and will for sure be going back!
