Every Disney trip I've been on which is about 10, I've eaten at Chef Mickey's. I have had their dinner once, brunch once and breakfast 8 times. To me, breakfast is SO much better than the other two. My family loves their breakfast so much. We love the atmosphere and meeting the characters. We enjoy every part of Chef Mickey's, as well as looking around the Contemporary. Chef Mickey makes a wonderful breakfast and I will definitely go again! I see people complaining about prices but you get to meet 5 characters and it's a buffet at Disney. I don't think it's way over priced. If you're on the Disney Dining Plan, it's perfect too!
The restaurant is buffet style! The food is just ok, however, the experience with the characters was well worth it! Every character came to our table, spent time with our kids, signed their autograph book, and took pictures! This was our first stop when we arrived to Disney World! Very memorable, my kids loved it!
We had a reservation and didn’t get seated for another 35 minutes once we got there. Service was terrible. Our party of seven, including a four year old, had enough time to go fix a plate AND eat it before any of our drinks arrived. Other families who were seated after us received their drinks before we did. Once we got our drinks, which we all ordered waters, arrived, there were about three melted ice pieces left in the glasses. The characters skipped our table multiple times which cut into the rest of our plans for the day. I have a gluten sensitivity and was excited for the gluten free waffles. We let them know ahead of time about this sensitivity and no instructions were given to inform me that I needed to order them separately. This wouldn’t be a big deal except that our waitress didn’t come back to our table for another 20 minutes so by the time I ordered them, everyone else was basically finished with their food and had to wait on me. However, they didn’t have to wait long because the gluten free waffles were AWFUL. They were the same size and shape as the regular waffles but weighed about as much as an oversized muffin. They were gooey inside which was weird and almost seemed to be made from cookie dough rather than waffle batter. No one in my group had anything to good to say. It was a very disappointing experience considering that it was our first meal when we got to Disney!
Chef Kenny at Chef Mickey's was absolutely phenomenal with my children and their allergies. He provided them with a beautiful, safe, and fun meal. I felt so comfortable allowing them to eat what was prepared for them. Allergies are tough on kind, Disney makes it easy!
Our daughter loved it. The character dining experience is cool. But for $175 for 3 people (including tip--and we ordered water), you'd expect food like you get at one of the higher end Vegas buffets. Instead, you pay $175 for Golden Corral. Disney can do better. I'm honestly surprised they tolerate this.
