I thought the food overall was great but the drink selection and desert was limited unless you wanted to pay more. The last 15-20 min of the show with the fire thrower and native dancers was terrific and the rest of the show was ok. I felt like For the rest of the show I felt that I was in Blue Hawaii but without Elvis. Seriously, if they had an excellent Elvis impersonator it would probably work much better.
I was pleasantly surprised after having less than stellar experiences in the past. We were seated in the back but this was not an issue, While the food is not Master Chef quality overall I enjoyed and sampled the majority of what was there! The pulled pork, ribs and coconut rice were my favorites and the pulled pork was surprisingly moist - great job chefs! Our waiter was attentive in just the right amount and was always close by when I desired to ask for seconds. The show itself was quite enjoyable and has been altered from past performances to keep me entertained the entire time. One of the aspects I enjoyed the most was when a large portion of the audience were invited up to participate. I have to admit that this weekend's performance turned this past skeptic into a believer. The show itself is worth going if you have never been to a Luau before. Veteran Luau go''rs might find it slightly old hat. The dinner service does get 'pushed' a bit in order to have time to enjoy the show. My only recommendation for Disney would be to have slightly better audio for those in the back and to better organize/communicate the process for entering the show. Overall -- I was very pleased! with the changes made and especially with the food!
This could have been a 4 or 5 star review if it wasn't because we literally froze!!! Dad loves dinner shows and what a better place to go than a Disney show... or you would think. It was in the 40s last night and after spending all day at Disney, we were ready to relax and have a nice dinner. The dinner took place in a semi pavilion and we were so cold the whole time I literally woke up sick today! I tried asking the girls in the reception area to please turn on the heaters, they responded that they should be turned on but that it doesn't get very hot because of the breeze....without ever looking at them. I asked a server and he said that that is how they "should be"? Lastly I asked the guys in the sound booth and their response was a bit more honest...they are old and barely work. I don't think they were on, noone cared to ever look. Food was good, show was super cute, but nothing could be enjoyed under those conditions. Very dissapointing for being at a Disney dinner show. Invest in heaters!
It’s not one of Disney’s strongest dinner shows, but it’s still pretty entertaining if you are a first timer. I would rank both the show and the food as “theme park quality”.If you still want to make a reservation I highly recommend you try getting a table near the front of the stage or “Row A” especially if traveling with little kids. Otherwise, all the other tables in the back will provide very little view of the stage which I found to be quite small.
Food was mediocre at best. The ribs did not taste good at all, the pork was ok. As for the show, the only entertaining part was the man twirling the fire batons. That lasted about 3 minutes. Very disappointed given the price we paid. Would not recommend it to anyone.
