Shin-umeda Shokudogai - Review
Starting out with barely 18 shops but now host to a over 100 bars and restaurants, this street has now joined the rest of Osaka in affirming the city's reputation as a 'Eat Till You Drop' destination. Eight of the origina 18 are still around. The best way to experience the street is in little bites. Have a small snack at one place then move on to another. This dining style is known as hashigo in Japan. The variety of cuisine here is immense, mostly from regions around Japan, but also China and India.

I went to Kiji here, a Michelin bib gourmond Okonomiyaki restaurant. The food was delicious and there was an English menu available. It was also interesting because when the trains pass overhead the building rumbles.
