Built to host a soccer match in the 1964 Summer Olympics, this 47000 seater stadium has become an important athletics center. It is the start and end point for the Ladies Marathon. The Cerezo Osaka football team regularly plays matches here. Sometime concerts are performed. ARchitecturally, note the curving roof over the stands, which does not require pillar support.

Yanmar Stadium Nagai, Osaka Reviews - Write a Review
This stadium is located in Nagai Park in the southern part of Osaka. It is ten minutes walk in the park from Nagai Station of Osaka City Subway Midosuji Line. Yanmar Stadium is one of the few stadiums which meet the requirement to hold world-class track & field games, but the wide track lanes are not good for the excitement of football games. J-LEAGUE club Cerrezo Osaka use it for their home games occasionally, but the supporters prefer the Kimchi Stadium, also located in Nagai Park, for it is for football only (without the track). There are plenty of restrooms, but the selection of foods are relatively limited.
A popular stadium known for its legendary Osaka derby matches between Cerezo and Gamba. The venue is rather large, but can be a pain to navigate. The staff on hand are often no very helpful either, so I would suggest you go through which ever entrance is closest to you, then walk to your seat gate (you may not be allowed to enter through the outdoor entrance near your seat). You're not allowed to be brings cans into the stadium, but they do provide paper cups for your to pour your drinks into. Food and drink are also available for purchase, and compared to American stadiums, are quite cheap, however they may be a line. The atmosphere is nice, but some of the staff working near the entrance can be quite unhelpful and rude at times, hence the low rating. The lack of accurate signage and maps can also be frustrating.
