Hep Five - Review

The bright red Ferris Wheel of the Hep Five shopping mall is the building's main landmark. At its highest point it reaches 106 metres above the ground. The gondolas are air conditioned, so your views of Osaka and as far as Mount Ikoma will be as comfortable as they are spectacular. The night views are just as incredible. The ride lasts around 15 minutes.

As for the mall itself… considering it receives nearly 17 million shoppers annually, it is fairly popular. Most of the 100 shops here are fashion-based, focused on young women. There are two replica whales hanging around for some reason.

Hep Five, Osaka Reviews

  • Definitely enjoyed it. Recommended. We had a great view of the city around us, with pictures telling which building was what. We were surprised to find out you could play any music of your choice (from your device that you attach via headphone jack) for the duration of the ride, which really made it all the more enjoyable. There was also a Jump shop with some anime merchandise on the way up.

  • The acrylic windows have all hazed up and you can't really see much at all. Coupled with all the high rise around, I think the other wheel is a better way to spend your time.

  • Great experience! It was very easy to buy ticket and there was no line whatsoever to get up on the ferries wheel even on weekend. It didnt make us dizzy with the movement, it was steady enough and overall was a very smooth ride. It looks small from afar but it was actually quite big!!! If you are scared of height you might feel a bit dizzy. You can get a picture with additional price but unfortunately on the bottom of the wheel only. You should go during the lunch time if you want no queue or go during night time to get beautiful night scenery of osaka.

  • I like it there .. everything was perfect .. ride was 15 minutes and fees per person was 600¥

  • Love this place, if you're on the highest point especially on night you can see how beautiful the city is.
