This theatre is slightly unusual in that it's a performance center for Japanese style Kabuki shows, yet the building is a neo-Renaissance construct. It's not always open either, as shows run for a limited number of months in a year. But if you're lucky enough to catch a performance, you'll be able to appreciate the full scope of the renovations carried out on the theatre. The technicals are all state of the art. There is revolving stage, the fastest in Japan. There is a stage that elevates. The acoustics are terrific. The theatre can seat about 1000 people.
