This used to be a cramped and dark station, a reputation that was blown away by the 2011 renovations that made it one of the most attractive train stations in the country. The main feature to gawk at is the sleek and huge metal and glass ceiling. The station is divided into north and south buildings, which are connected by the Toki no Hiroba (Time and Space) Bridge.

North Gate building:

• Lucua Shopping Center: Fashion shopping complex filled with trendy boutiques, confectionaries and restaurants.
• Yawaragi no Niwa and Kaze no Hiroba: Terrace gardens with water features on the 10th and 11th floor with pleasant views over Osaka.
• Tenku no Noen: Vegetables and greens are grown at this urban sky farm on the rooftop.

South Gate Building:

• Daimaru Department Store: 17 floors worth of shopping for apparel men and women's apparel, household goods, and even a Pokemon Center.
• Taiyo no Hiroba: This sunny plaza on the 15th, 16th and 17th floors is a lovely place to relax while enjoying the Osaka skyline.
• Check out the computerised water clock.

The buildings are connected to the JR Osaka Station.

• Daimaru Department Store: 10am-11pm
• Lucua: 10am-11pm

• Midosuji Line stop Umeda Station.
• Tanimachi Line stop Higashi-Umeda Station.
