About Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Osaka

Before there was the London Eye, there was THE Tempozan Ferris Wheel! Situated at the mouth of the Osaka Bay, Tempozan Ferris Wheel was the biggest, tallest and most technologically advanced observation wheel in the world (it was later surpassed by the gigantic London Eye). From the top, one gets to see beautiful panoramic views of the sea, the mountains and the entire city of Osaka. During the night, the Ferris wheel is illuminated with bright colours and makes for a delightful sight to look at. This illuminated sight of the wheel along with the views it provides has made it into a popular romantic date spot with the locals. Trivia- the Tempozan Ferris Wheel is 112.5 meters in height and has 60 eight-passenger cars (maximum capacity of 480 people).

Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Osaka Reviews

  • Peaceful ride with a nice skyline view of Osaka although it might not be the case if the weather is foggy... We came here using Osaka Amazing Pass which is free and this allowed us to skip the queue which is very reliable... For a more adventurous ride, you might as well try the all glass cabin

  • Around 10-15 minutes on the wheel... The lighting effect was so nice... It would be good if you visit with ur beloved 1

  • You get such amazing views from all the way up here. Make sure you get there early so you can get of of their seats that are totally transparent.

  • Lights up beautifully at night, gradiently switching from color to color. It's a rather cheap price for a wonderful view as it climbs extremely high in the sky. The wheel spins slowly so it gives you lots of time to truly soak in the view. There are various combo packs you can purchase from the tourist centers near subways, which include passes to the aquarium, pirate ship, and rail passes.

  • Amazing views of the city with a see through cabin all to ourselves. Great value for 800 yen and a 15 min ride time. Would recommend the train / walk
