Otaru City General Museum is a combination of 2 museums that are located on different sites. There is a lesser-known Railway Museum that is established in the area of railway yard and there is a basic history museum that is found along the famous Otaru Canal. Both the museums are exciting and provide a deeper understanding of local history and heritage. The history museum displays around 20,000 artifacts and you can see railway models at the other museum. If you are a history buff, make sure to stop by both the sites.
