Opened in 1917, the Bytown Museum was used as a storehouse and treasury by the British Military in the early 19th century. Today, the museum is most popular for its stories of hauntings and has been featured on a paranormal TV show.

The collection of the museum consists of 7,000 objects that portray the evolution of Bytown to the present day Ottawa. The exhibits show the culture and art of the city and includes paintings, sculptures and other artefacts.  The building itself is an iconic architectural site.

• Student - $4.50 (13 to 18 or with valid student ID)
• Child - $3.00
• Flex Family - $15.00 (2 adults and unlimited children under 18)
• 4 years & under - complimentary

January 29 –May 19, 2016:

• Tuesday- Monday: Open 11.00 am to 4.00 pm
• Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Summer Hours: May 20th –October 9th 2016:

• Open Friday- Wednesday: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm
• Tuesday: open until 8.00 pm with free admission after 5.00 pm.

Extended Summer Hours: June 24th –September 4th 2016:

• Open Daily 10 am to 7 pm and open until 8 pm on Thursdays with free admission after 5.00 pm.
