This museum is dedicated to the founder of Afrikaan’s newspapers ‘ Freemason’ and ‘Die Burger’, a member of parliament and an active propagator of the Afrikaan language- Cornelis Jacobus Langenhoven. He was the prime enforcers to make the language officially acceptable and is also the creator of the South African national Anthem.
This museum is set up in his home and hosts the memoirs of his life. The museum is also a tribute to Afrikaan language and is preserved just as it was at the time of his death. This private residence also is a home to his tomb where he was buried in 1932.
