Sprawling over 550 pristine acres, the Muttontown Preserve in eastern Norwich is combined with a few old North Shore estates and is operated by the Nassau County Museum. Hiking enthusiasts or those who seek some tranquil moments in the vicinity of nature, the Muttontown Preserve will offer four nature areas of which the Nature Center Area covering fifty acres is the most popular one amongst the woodland hikers. The highlight of the marked trail is the old mansion named Chelsea which is surrounded by a, U-shaped parcel. The Chelsea showcases extensive historical and cultural exhibits. In summer months, you will get to see a number of native wildlife, birds, amphibians, reptiles and endemic trees and wildflower shrubs while in winter months, you will get to use the trails for cross-country skiing.

the place is nice it's got good scenery big place although not much of a hiking place if that's what you're looking for. But we saw some cool animals like Foxes or bunny rabbits and those types of things and we had a good time but there is not much there
It's a preserve, building there was closed, no available water source, woods, trails, TICKS
