Jata Shankar Temple - Review
The Jata Shankar Temple is a popular Shiva temple cave where naturally formed stalagmites form the deity of Lord Shiva as ‘Shivalingams’.
The rock formation that resembles the Jata (hair) of Lord Shiva is what gives the cave it’s name. A visit here as you walk around the loosely set boulders and explore the warm and cool pools that are formed by natural streams, completes the experience. The main shrine is the highlight of the place.

Jata Shankar Temple, Pachmarhi Reviews
A mighty deep gorge in where the temple is situated. You have to get down in three stages. 1. Parking to the Floating Stones Temple. Along with the famous floating stones this temple also houses some hermits chanting. 2. Floating Stones Temple to the Ram Temple. It is here you are required to take your footware off. 3. Ram Temple to the Main Jatashankar Temple There are cave entrances. This also has the hanging Rock. This is one of the 5 Shiv Temples that are situated in Pachmarhi. A must visit. Photography is allowed and worth it. The temple is open 24 hours and is absolutely safe.
