The actual town wasn't founded until 1957, even though human settlement in the area dates back to 12000 years.After the Glen Canyon Dam was built in the 1960s, tourist interest in the area surged, driven largely by the sudden plethora of activities now possible on the newly made lake. Today, over three million people visit Page annually.
