Upper Antelope Canyon - Review

Upper antelope canyon is truly nature’s wonder and is known for its wide spectra of sunbeams reflected and refracted from the curves and ridges of the canyon walls. Here you can get the sight of water passing through the rocks by the Navajo. The entrance of the antelope is at the ground level and so does not require any climbing. You need to visit this place during the months of summer as the light is perfect at that time and it creates a perfect setup for landscape photography. Tourists get surprised to find the appearance of beams on March 20 and its sudden disappearance on October 7 every year at the Upper antelope canyon.

  • We weren’t able to book a tour online, since our trip there was quite last minute. Don’t worry tho... we went on the same day and tried to get a tour for noon and it worked just fine. Navajo tours was able to fit our group of three to their tour. So just try your luck and see if there are some empty seats. The tour itself takes around an hour. They drive you to the beginning of the canyon and then take you thru it. Snap your pictures fast!!! There are so many people walking around and you literally have a minute to take a picture with no one on it....you aren’t allowed to bring anything on the tour, no backpacks/purses etc. so leave it in your car. Bring a bottle of water and your camera that’s all you need anyways!

  • We were in our 50 States grand tour and we came across this amazing place in July 2014. The most important part of this tour is to find out what time the Sun will bring the best light show in the caverns. We stayed an extra day because we wanted to see the best and we did. We booked for the next day for the right time where pictures are best. The tour guide will show you the best places to get the best pictures. Our tour guide was so awesome to show us and everyone else the best of the best. **When you get to the big bus truck, make sure you don't have loose items!!! Hold your hat, glasses and everything in your possession.** Would it be to much to ask not to litter and if you see someone littering please say something!! Enjoy your trip!!

  • Absolutely incredible place to visit, get your camera 📷 ready and by prepared that it can get overcrowded just before 12:00. The reason is that at around lunch time it is the best time to take the best photos as the rays of light are coming through to the very bottom of the Canyon. Also if you get a chance I would recommend to pay a little more and visit the other Canyons too.

  • It is all in the camera....but you walk out of there in a totally different mood and you come to appreciate the beauty of our planet more and more! You need a tour company as it is on reservation land. Everyone was welcoming and right on time.

  • Beautiful. Even though we were on the regular tour, there was ample time to take photos. Each group is around 14 people. The ride from the meeting point to the actual canyon is about 10 minutes paved and 10 minutes unpaved road. The unpaved portion is very bumpy, so the truck screeches and rattles often. Our tour guide was extremely nice and even helped us take photos. He also showed good ways to photograph parts of the canyon. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience in the canyon.
