The Coats Memorial Church or Thomas Coats Memorial Baptist Church is popularly known as the Baptist Cathedral of Europe and with its magnificent Gothic Revival architecture, is one of the significant landscape dominating the Paisley skyline with the Crown Steeple that stands 200 feet tall from the ground. This category A listed structure is built with red sandstone in the shape of cruciform. The highlighting features of the Coats Memorial Church are the transepts and the flying buttresses on the nave. The vaulted ceiling is decorated with angel paintings and beneath this the interior has the capacity to hold around a thousand worshippers. The organ with its 3040 pipes, stencils, gargoyles, carved marble, alabaster and mosaics are also eye-catching.
