A two-mile long loop trail that leads to Tahquitz falls and back is known as the Tahquitz canyon trail. The trail leads up to an elevation of 350 feet and is steep, rocky and full of adventure. The rocky steps are as high as 12-15 inches and require good balance while climbing.
Though slightly adventurous, the hike is a matchless experience!

Tahquitz Canyon Trail Reviews & Ratings
A short and simple hike to the falls. It's about one mile one way, the views are beautiful and the water is always cold. If you're lucky, you may see some Big Horn Sheep in the area.
The hike to Tahquitz Falls is a beautiful walk up the canyon. Be sure to bring the map guide to enjoy the marked features along the way. The volume of the water at the falls is dependent upon recent rains... so expect more after replenishing weather. Unfortunately the fee the tribe charges to visit has been increasing, but this a pleasant diversion for a nature walk right downtown Palm Springs. The trail is not too strenuous and a great adventure for kids of ages.
Our family had a decent encounter at the Visitors Center. The ladies working were friendly enough offering maps and details when asked but there was a young male park ranger closing down at 5 at the center that had a fantastic sense of humor. His personality alone was worth 4 stars.
Great cool morning, only one on guides trip. Interesting facts. 2nd time at hike to falls. Go early to avoid sun and heat. Takquitz is on Indian land and is run and led by members of that tribe.
Absolutely stunning. An oasis in the middle of nowhere really. This would be a great date. Starting with little hike where you end with a picnic by the waterfall. Breathtaking really. There are great photo ops along the way as well. I would recommend this to anyone travelling to Palm Springs. I'd give it 10 stars if that was an option.
