The Swallow Cliff Woods South is a nature preserve in Palos Park in the state of Illinois. The Swallow Cliff Woods opened in the early 20th century and is a heritage of the Cook County. If you are up for the challenge, it is highly recommended that you climb the whooping 124 steps in the Woods which are the most attractive feature of the preserve. You can walk and hike through the abundant greenery of the Woods which is dotted with streams, marshes, and plenty of wildlife to make your trip a pleasant one. If you are visiting in winter, take a sled and enjoy riding down the 100-foot slope.
Swallow Cliff Woods South Reviews & Ratings
Great shaded trails that are nice to walk or run on hot sunny days. If you want to test yourself there are the 125 stairs. Always a nice crowd so safe for singles and young kids. One of the few hilly places in the Chicagoland area.
Avoid weekend's on warm sunny days.... extremely crowded. Well maintained trials, safe, several options, not alot of bugs, bu, beware of tics and flea's found some in grass area near parking
If you are hiker, this is your place to go. There are some hidden trails with beautiful views. I highly recommend this place to all my hikers and those looking for a good work out.
