The Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park is a 240 square kilometre protected area, situated in the Western Ghats of South India. It is spread along the eastern outskirts of Karnataka. This place isn’t far from Panjim. The National Highway a dividing line in the sanctuary that breaks it into two parts and moreover the Mormugao - Londa railway route passes through the territory.
The tropical evergreen and moist deciduous forests are some of the few we are left with. The evergreen woods are mostly found at higher heights and along the waterway banks. The timberland covering is very nearly closed and the accessibility to the grass pastures is extremely restricted. This park is home to some rare and endangered animals like the Black Panther along with slightly more common species. For the nature-lover this is one is a no-brainer but even for others it is a real experience.
