About Shanta Durga Temple, Panaji
Shantadurga is the form the goddess Parvati took to mediate a violent quarrel between Vishnu and Shiva. This strikingly beautiful temple is dedicated to her. It was built in the reign of Maratha ruler Chattrapati Shahu of Satara in about 1738 A.D. Nestled into the foot of a lushly green hill, the temple's architecture fuses Indian and Portuguese styles. For example, it has shikaras on the roof but also roman windows of stained glass. The deity herself rests on a golden palanquin. Outside the temple is a lamp tower that looks like a cake. It is an utterly tranquil place.

Shanta Durga Temple, Panaji Reviews
It is one of the famous temples in Goa. Actually it was transferred to this place long before during European rule in India, due to converting to Christianity fear. The temple boasts the highest visit of in-house as well as foreign tourist and is one of the most inquired and sought after temple in Goa. It is one of the most beautiful and most scenic during it's feat call as Kara in Marathi and Konkani. You can see lots of dramas and other plays that time. As well as purchase lot of things like eatables and toys during that time. Visit once to personally experience it.
Shanta Durga is one of the most majestic temples that I have seen. Dedicated to Goddess Durga, Shanta Durga temple is created in such a way that it appears to be a church in the first glance. I'm not sure if it was constructed in such a way on purpose of if it was a church until some point in history. Temple also has a canteen which provides food in really low prices, the quality however is good. Be sure to wear unrevealing cloths though otherwise the manage of canteen won't let you enter.
The best maintained temples of Goa. It’s in a very peaceful place. Apart from Goddess, they have had a great canteen, offers a hygiene food open all days. That’s like Sanjeevani on the days which you have involved in traveling. Moreover as you get pure veg food here, it’s like a boon for pure vegetarians. A must visit place if you are in Goa.
Good and quiet place around the temple. Parking available around the temple. When I visited in December 2017, restoration work was under progress.
It is nice temple. Place for parking and all you can seat there for peace
